Due to the large increase of foot traffic on the Grangegorman Road, Dublin City Council decided to pedestrianize a 300m section of the road.
Accordingly Cairn Construction was appointed as Main Contractors and PSCS.
Key project activities included; initial dilapidation survey, the identification and protection of existing services, extensive traffic & pedestrian management, excavations & disposal of unacceptable materials, milling and recycling existing surfaces, new drain laying including new manholes & gullies, and new services installation including new chambers. Final finishing works consisted of new kerblines, granite and tactile paving surfacing, new controlled pedestrian crossings.
As part of sustainability initiatives we build new planters.
The area was finally finished with two layers of DBM surfacing, white lining and new street signage.
