The works entailed the upgrading of Metals Lane outside the People’s Park in Dun-Laoghaire.

The area is extremely busy with locals and tourists and the main Dublin Dart Line runs parallel to the walkway.

Main works included the resurfacing the Metals Lane Walkway with epoxy non-slip resin on asphalt surfacing. We also build 85m of new granite plinth and four new pillars. We also installed 85m of new decorative wrought iron railings and new gates to the edge of the Peoples Park.

All works were carried out whilst both the People’s Park and the Metals Lane remained open. In overcoming this challenge, we designed and implemented extensive traffic & pedestrian management initiatives. All project risks were identified and mitigated.
